He is a one of workers who sends water to faculties and students in our school. If each room need water, includ classroom, officeroom, dormities etc, will call him, and then he will carries water buckets for them.
My university has no elevator in student's dormities, It has 6 floors, so he need carries a water buckets on his shoulder over and over. (Sometimes boys will take water by themself, but girls still need his help.) Each time he can own one yuan RMB, he use these money set his scholarship helped two poor students.
Today he is invited to make a lecture on school's "The First Class" for freshman. He is be stopped 8 times in 15 minutes by student's applause. He say "To be a good man, to be a useful man. I am not good at teaching, but I will try my best to make a contribution to society. "
Actually, I want to say. He is a good "teacher" for everyone! "Teacher" is not a patent for people who is teaching in class, "teacher" can be an event, a behaviour, a object and so on.

That is so true, Hao! It reminds me that our actions and behavior teach others in and out of classroom environments, and sometimes we learn from the most unexpected places :)
ReplyDeleteTeaching doesn't only come from books, it comes from life. In essence then, we are all teachers and students. I think it is important to remember that every moment someone is learning something from us. We should then always try to make sure it is a positive lesson.
ReplyDeleteIt's easy to read from the book, but its not easy to influence others.
ReplyDeleteYes I agree, the longer we live and do, the more we experience and learn. When you think about anyone can have a negative or positive affect on you at anytime...you could run into a complete stranger and they could say something nice or uplifting to you and it could change your whole outlook on that day etc...
